While acknowledging the courage needed to pursue counseling as a resource, my goal as a therapist is to assist you while you work through some of life’s obstacles. I work with children and adolescents, men and women, and families with a variety of issues including anxiety, grief, communication, anger, isolation, and relationships. I very much believe that sometimes talking with someone “outside of the box,” positions us to develop a deeper insight into our experience of life.
For those interested, I enjoy utilizing a few different theoretical orientations: Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Depth (Jungian) Psychology, Experiential Therapy, and Play Therapy (for kids, adolescents, and yes…some adults too!)
During the past two years, I have enjoyed maintaining my own limited private practice while also developing Highland Counseling Center (HCC) into a community that supports both the therapists that maintain their independent practice at HCC and also the environment that offers the highest quality counseling services. I have recently begun working with another colleague, Sarah Houy, offering consultation services to therapists who may be interested in starting up their own private or group practice. We do not see the mental health industry as competitive. There is plenty of need for support in our world. The more accessible and available we are to offer support specific to the needs of the individual, the better off we will be as a larger community.
Therapy Fees: $100 per 50 minute session – $125 per 80 minute session (couple and family)
Sliding scale: Due to maintaining a strong commitment to pro-bono services, which is currently at capacity, I do not offer sliding scale fees – Free initial consultation (15 minute phone call or 30 minute in person meeting).
Insurance: I do not currently accept insurance. However, some insurance companies support 3rd party reimbursement. This is where I submit to you a monthly invoice and then you receive reimbursement from your insurance. Please contact your insurance company to determine if this is an option. Why do I not accept insurance? Separate from some of the obstacles that insurance companies present to providers is my priority to keep my availability high for clients, therapists, friends, and family.
Private or Group Practice Consultation Fee: $125 per 60 minute meeting
