My approach to therapy draws from my background in both traditional talk therapy and art therapy. You do not have to be an artist or have any art ability to participate successfully in this process. Together we will find ways to approach your specific situation that best serve you in and out of the therapy office. As complement or alternative to art therapy, I will use talk and mindfulness approaches that work for you. Each person has their own psychological journey and together we will explore what works best for your process.
I employ the Transpersonal psychology model including attachment theory, developmental psychology, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psycho-educational and cognitive/behavioral therapy. I teach mindfulness for stress reduction and body awareness practices. My background in Vipassana Meditation, yoga, rock climbing and painting also help to inform and center my approach to psychotherapy.
